NEWS RELEASE Bellefontaine, Ohio August 20, 2019 — Westfield Legacy of Caring Program(job training) Lends a Hand to Bellefontaine Community

RTC Industries was nominated by CoverLink Insurance to receive a $5,000 grant from Westfield Insurance Foundation to help individuals with developmental disabilities become successfully employed in our local community as part of the Westfield Legacy of Caring program(job training). At Westfield, it’s more than writing insurance policies, it’s about going above and beyond to help people and families grow and prosper. Lending a hand to friends and neighbors during times of need is at the core of the Westfield Insurance Foundation. Each year, Westfield independent insurance agents, like CoverLink Insurance, are invited to nominate a local nonprofit for the Legacy of Caring program. The program invests in communities and helps impact disaster recovery, family stability or safety.

“At CoverLink Insurance, we want every member of our community to grow and experience a vibrant future,” said Matt Simon, Vice President. “We are proud of our collaboration with Westfield that allows our agency to honor its commitment to enhancing and helping educate the communities where we live and work.”

We are thrilled that this grant can directly help someone like Sara to become employed in our community and to obtain on-the-job customer service skills and job training.

“We feel honored to have the opportunity to give back to our community and to work with such great organizations like RTC Industries and Westfield Insurance,” said Larry Middaugh, Account Executive. “At CoverLink, we truly do believe that people are more important than policies.”

“We are so grateful for the generous support to RTC Industries,” said Tonya Reed, Executive Director. “The Legacy of Caring grant will have a direct impact on RTC’s ability to provide quality job training for persons with developmental disabilities and will help us provide the support and hope needed to be successful.”

This year, the Westfield Insurance Foundation donated more than a half-million dollars to neighborhoods in 15 states. CoverLink Insurance is one of 76 agencies that nominated a nonprofit, including RTC Industries, for the Westfield Legacy of Caring grant program. Awarding grants through the program is an extension of the fundamental role that insurance plays every day in stabilizing families, businesses, and communities in times of uncertainty. Westfield is proud to work with its independent agents in distributing over $2 million in the last five years.

“Together with our agency partners, Westfield continues to build on the strong commitment to caring that the founders of our company imagined,” said Ed Largent, Westfield President, CEO, board chair and Westfield Insurance Foundation chairman.  “At Westfield, we want to give our communities everything we can: Protection, safety and support and our commitment doesn’t stop there.”

About CoverLink
The guiding principle at independent insurance agency Coverlink is to always put people before policies… our associates care deeply about the clients we work to protect on a daily basis.  So when Westfield Insurance created its Legacy of Caring program, the mission aligned seamlessly with the culture that’s existed at CoverLink Insurance since 1920.  We’re honored when clients like Mark Muirhead say “they’re the type of individuals you can count on, and who honestly care about their clients from a business and personal standpoint.” It’s this caring approach that we feel is lacking too often in today’s world, in any industry.  And we’re on a mission to change that, along with the help of like-minded organizations such as Westfield Insurance.
